Doughnut Delights

The kids embarked on a deliciously creative project—making doughnuts out of papier-mâché! This activity introduced our young artists to the fun and versatile world of papier-mâché where they also unleashed their creativity in designing and decorating their own whimsical doughnut creations.

Each child crafted their unique doughnut using strips of paper and glue, molding them into perfect round shapes with a hole in the middle, just like real doughnuts. Once the forms were set and dry, they got to paint and decorate their doughnuts with a variety of colours and patterns to mimic icing and sprinkles.

This project was a hit among the campers, offering them a hands-on experience in sculpture and design while sparking their imaginations.

Crunch Time

Paper craft took centre stage at this Art Camp, and our 8 to 12-year-olds had a blast drawing, painting, and constructing their own larger-than-life crisps bags. The excitement was palpable as each camper used their imagination and art skills to create oversized versions of their favorite snack.

The kids dove into the project with enthusiasm, meticulously crafting the shapes and creatively thinking about colour and design to make their paper crisps bags look as realistic as possible. The highlight was definitely seeing their finished products—vibrant and eye-catching, each bag showcased the unique style and personality of its creator.

We must admit, seeing all these fantastic creations lined up together left us all longing for the real thing!

Feathered Fun

For this activity, our 8 to 12 yrs campers spread their wings with an exciting exploration into the world of printmaking, using safe print techniques to craft vibrant bird prints. The kids experimented with tools like pencils and toothpicks to make detailed impressions on soft print sheets.

Adding a splash of colour, some students employed the Chine Collé method, attaching coloured tissue paper to heavier sheets before transferring their inked images onto these textured, colourful bases. The resulting artwork was not only striking but also showcased the incredible creativity of our young artists.

Día de los Muertos

Our art camp took a spirited turn as the kids got hands-on with a fantastic craft activity: transforming large cardboard skulls into vibrant Day of the Dead masterpieces. Drawing and painting, our young artists adorned their skulls with colourful patterns and floral designs that captured the essence of the Mexican tradition.

The gallery of finished skulls was a spectacular sight, showcasing the impressive artistic talents of our campers in a fun and imaginative setting.

Pride in Painting

With this activity, the kids embarked on a roaring adventure by painting their own lion faces. Armed with brushes and a palette of bold colours, each young artist brought to life the majestic features of a lion on canvas.

From the fiery manes to the piercing eyes, the children enjoyed expressing their creativity and honing their painting skills. This activity not only allowed them to explore animal portraiture but also to practice colour blending and brush techniques in a supportive and fun environment.

The finished paintings were a spectacular array of artistic interpretations, each lion face reflecting the unique style and imagination of its creator.

Lightbulb Moments

In this art camp, we focused on enhancing drawing skills with an intriguing project: sketching lightbulbs while adding various creative elements. Our young artists learned valuable techniques for outlining, shading, and adding detail to make their drawings more dynamic.

Starting with a simple lightbulb, campers were guided through the steps of drawing accurately and creatively. They were encouraged to infuse personal touches into their sketches, exploring how different elements like texture and light can transform a basic drawing into a piece of art.
