Create your own galaxy masterpiece in a unique, guided painting workshop at Blackrock Castle Observatory.
Perfect for creative teens and tweens aged 10 to 17yrs, this fun, hands-on workshop combines painting with the wonder of space. Using stunning images of the night sky captured through the Observatory's telescope as inspiration, participants will create their own celestial artwork while discovering fascinating facts about galaxies, stars and nebulae.
With step-by-step guidance throughout, this workshop is suitable for all skill levels, whether they're picking up a paintbrush for the first time or already love to paint. They'll leave with a unique canvas, new creative skills and a fresh appreciation for our universe.

It’s all about sparking imagination, encouraging self-expression, and helping kids grow their creative skills without the pressure of getting it “right.” Here, they can experiment, explore their talents, build confidence, and enjoy the process of making something unique.
And the best part? it’s a great way to unwind after school and meet new friends!

The focus is on building skills, boosting creative confidence, and encouraging individual expression. We draw inspiration from a variety of sources, including contemporary and street art, so projects feel fresh, relevant, and engaging for this age group.
It’s a chance for young people to unwind after school, try new things, and create work they can feel proud of.
